Lesson Plan: Multiplying Decimals/Dividing Decimals by Whole Numbers
Day 1
Students begin with the first topic section and read about
multiplying decimals.
Give the students a sample problem multiplying
decimals such as 21.4 × 4.5 =
(96.30 or 96.3)
Check, then allow students to work on the main problem
in the section.
After correctly completing the problem, students will go
to the topic on dividing
decimals by
whole numbers.
Students will read the information given on dividing
decimals.
Give the students a sample problem to solve such as 124.85 ÷ 5 = (24.97)
Check, then allow students to work on the main problem
in the division section.
After correctly completing the main problem, students will
go to the interactive practice
section.
Assign the appropriate practice sheet for homework.
